Event Review: 2019 Clinician's Goal Setting and Vision Board Event on January 5, 2019

The 2019 Clinician's Goal Setting and Vision Board Event which took place on January 5, 2019 at a training room at More Than Therapy was considered a great success. Many clinicians signed up, fewer than those that signed up attended, but all attendance to the event indicated benefiting greatly from this meet up in therapeutic and wellness activity. The creative director\facilitator provide all necessary items such as the tri fold poster board, numerous various magazines, permanent markers, glue, scissors, and refreshments.

Clinicians participated in an activity of discussion regarding their work environments and the stresses that they are facing in the field. Clinicians support one another and worked to assist their fellow peers with suggestions and strategies to help them alleviate the stressors. The clinicians this at personal and wellness goals for themselves. The clinician set educational and skill development goals for themselves. Clinicians had difficulty was set in work and life balance goals for work together in order to come up with such goals and a strategy to address that aspect which is necessary for wellness. The clinicians discussed fears and anxiety they were experiencing in their work experience which was keeping them from fulfilling their dreams as well as personal goals. The clinicians work with the facilitator in overcoming complacency and addressing their confidence to look overcome their fears and push past their barriers to success. The facilitator assisted clinicians with formulating a plan of action to develop new habits. The clinicians encouraged one another to use each other for supports as the burnout rate and mental health is high and the stressors are more compounded lately regarding the care that they give to their client base as well as addressing the needs of the agency they work for if they were not already in private practice.

All clinicians who participated in the activity indicated that they felt they benefited from this eclectic and creative process. There would definitely be another such event such as  this time next year if not beforehand.
